Boyz II Men show videos are up!

The August 17th show at the Cape Cod Melody tent was amazing.  There were over 2200 people in attendance and they were a rambunctious group.  I played 6 songs and ended the night with a freestyle.  When all was said and done I got a standing ovation and it felt incredible.  Check out the videos on YOUTUBE.  Share ‘em on Facebook and Twitter!

Getting to chat with Boyz to Men for a few minutes was surreal.  They were the biggest act in the world when I was a teenager and two decades later they haven’t lost a step.  They were cool guys and they sounded great.

The crew at the melody tent were awesome, too.  It’s looking like there’s a chance I may be back in 2015.  I’ll keep you posted.

The 100th Annual Madeira Feast

I’ll be performing twice at this year’s Madeira feast.  Being the 100th anniversary, this year promises to be a great one.  The band and I will be playing on the same bill as The Gin Blossoms and Blood Sweat and Tears (featuring Bo Bice), as well as my good friend Rebecca Correia (.com).

I’ll be playing with Kevin Smith on Stage 4 by the grapevines at 8:30pm on Friday August 1st.  Then the full band will be playing two sets on Saturday afternoon 3pm and 5pm on  stage 2.  This is one of our favorite gigs of the year.  We’ll be breaking out some new stuff.

Don’t miss it.

What’s the opposite of Writer’s Block?

Until the World Falls Apart is barely a year a old and I’ve already written enough stuff for a new record.  It’s been a really productive winter and spring.  (I guess severely spraining my ankle in March paid dividends!)  I’m debating on running a kickstarter campaign to get this next record off of the ground.  But bottom line:  Plenty of new material that I’ve been breaking out at shows.  As if you needed another reason to come out and see me!  See you at the shows.

Summer, Summer, Summertime

The summer has been going well so far.  I’ve been pretty busy, playing 2-3 nights a week.  Check the tour page.  All the dates are there.  Some highlights for the summer include the Madeira Feast and the annual Apponagansett show.  Come on out and check out some live music.

Last Band Standing

The band and I will be performing at New England Music Awards’ competition The Last Band Standing.  Round 1 will be on Friday September 19th, 2014 at the Hard Rock Café in Boston.  Tickets are $10.  We’ll be organizing a bus from the south coast.  If you’re interested email me (craigdemelo@Hotmail.com) or contact my cell phone if you have it.  This one should be a lot of fun.

Catching up…

It’s been a little while since I’ve updated the site.  Let me fill you in on what I’ve been up to.  Writing, writing, and more writing.  Since UTWFA dropped in June, I’ve written almost a dozen tunes.  I’ve even done a little collaboration with my good friend Rebecca Correia (www.rebeccacorreia.com) called “When It Rains.”  I’m debating on dropping it on iTunes this summer.  Stay tuned.

Besides that project, I’ve been stockpiling material.  I’m hoping to get back into the studio sooner than later.

I have some other irons in the fire, but why bore you with the birds in the bush.  Once I’ve got one of those suckers in my hand, you will be the first to know.  For now, it’s back to work.  Keep checking in.

Limelight Magazine Male Vocalist of the Year!!!

On Saturday March, 12th, Craig took home the award for Best Male Vocalist at the annual Limelight Music Awards show at club Hell in Providence, RI.  In addition to taking home the award, Craig performed a three song set featuring “Spinning,”  “So Be It,”  and ”Johnny Blue.”  The crowd response following Craig’s performance was great.

On March 24th, the winners of the awards show will be featured on Cool 102’s “The Cheap Seats” program.  Tune in to hear one of Craig’s songs.  There will also be a piece done on Craig in a summer edition of Limelight Magazine.

Thanks to everyone who voted and thanks to people at Limelight Magazine!
